I replaced them with Posi Quiet Semi-Metallic Brake Pads . The OEM was making squeaky noises. I've been using Posi brake pads for some time now.

How many miles did you get from the stock pads?

here is the best part.

i knew i would have some free time this past week-end...
.... so i jacked up the front and pulled the wheels.......pads still have "plenty left" on them.

are the OEM pads that good ? ? am i just lucky ? ?

35 000 + miles and only about 1/2 worn.

so i just ended up doing an "inspection" and rotating the tires !

I'm not suprised your brake pads are only 1/2 worn. Recently we sold our 1995 Honda Passport SUV to our son and at 90,000 miles it still had the factory brake pads on it.

Most SUV's are built for heavy duty use and if you don't tow anything or carry heavy loads on a regular basis, the suspension, brakes, and transmission generally will last much longer than on a passenger car.
