Default Replacing Front Brake Pads

Hey Guys,

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay to replace the front break pads/resurface rotors? Our local dealership in NJ wants $249.00. Does anyone know a decent shop in Central NJ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

I paid a total of $15 for my front pads. I didn't resurface the rotors (for the 2nd time). I did bleed my brakes at the same time...that was another $7 for fluid.

Last time I had the rotors turned/resurfaced at an auto parts store, it was about $25 a rotor.

If you going back to dealership, most probably they will give you OEM brake pads which approx. is about 110cdn for a pair, add on to the labour hours which is pretty close to what they quote.

else, you could go to a reputable street garage and get them change which might saves you probaly 50 bucks.

I changed mine a month ago, front and rear brake pads, front and rear rotors, including labour is about 800++ cdn, I did not bother about the brands, but they did mentioned it was a reputable and trusted brand.

Don't bother re-surfaced the OEM rotors, they are really crappy/rusted to begin with.

replace front brake pads; <1hr.
Anyone with a couple of spanners can manage it.

Skimming rotors, done on the vehicle is quicker, <10mins each,
removed and machined is cheaper, assuming your time is free and you dont have a lathe.

Yes I know that's not how they are from OEM but I don't do any AutoX. They look sweet and stop nice. I think I've had em for about 20k and no warping whatsoever, just smooth braking.

I have Luk Schaffer Cross Drilled/Slotted installed on my Mitsubishi Lancer.
