Default 2007 outlander left taillight not working help

Hello ladies and gents,
Rear left quarter panel taillight suddenly stopped working. No running light, no brake light.
Signal light works.
ive tested the plug itself, it is getting 12v with the light on on one if the green cables and 12v on the other green cable when brake pedal is depressed. So its not a wiring issue. Fuses are good, last test i did was test the right taillight on the left side, it perfectly worked.

conclusion is that the tailight itself went bad, my question, are they worth opening and try to see whats wrong and fix it? Is there a known issue with them? Otherwise, whats my options for a new one? Aftermarket? Good used one?
thank you in advance!

first, I'd try to remove the other side and just swap them to see if the problem persists.

looks like they are a regular bulb:

thank you for answering, taillight is LED, its not a bulb. Its the whole thing. I did the swap test, right side “known working” worked on the left side. Sorry i didnt specify its a 2007 xls.

so did the broken left side work on the right side?

if you are adamant that the website, website exploded view, and the service manual are wrong, then your next best thing is to buy a used assembly with the bulb already in place.

no it didnt work on the right side neither. Though the right working side, worked with the left plug per se. So this points into a faulty tailight assembly. Ill buy a used working one from the bay! Thank you for the help

heh, so I had to know. I took mine apart too. there are two bulbs...turn signal and brake lights which are integrated into assembly. there were 3 more screws that looked like it held the assembly together, but nothing would budge. sometimes looking is better than keyboard commanding!

check out car-part.com, left assembly number is 8330A379 if that helps any.
