Default 2007 outlander tailgate (upper gate) won't lift after unlock

Hey guys,

I am going to find a shop to fix it, but wanted to see someone had simliar issue before fixing it and trying to identify the root cause. I doubt if it's something to do with the hatchback struts because the uppergate doesn't seem lifting at all, wondering if perhaps the computer controlling parts/wire, or something else.

Any thoughts/inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Victor

Does the door not budge even if you pull on it? If you can hear the lock mechanism activate when you grab it and it seems to be working, it's odd that you can't lift it. If it's not locked shut, it probably is your struts.

Thanks for the response. The door does move when it got unlocked, and I can hear the sound. It seems like the struts issue, and will order them to see how the repair goes. Thanks again!
