guys, I don't think there's much out there for his engine. did a quick search on car-parts.com for a 2008 2.4L...there are only 7 of them out there in the USA.

No cross with the 09-up lancer gts 2.4 ? always could get a new short block or long block.

If only you could go back in time and get a extended warrantly for 24 mnths

@mitza

can we really change it with lancer engine.

On the side note, the mitsu parts are hard to find in USA and dealer prices are too high. Any site (apart from junkyar and ebay) where part are readily available and cheaper than dealer price.

Thanks

Default engine

I wish I knew someone at a Mitsu dealer to confirm will need to call to see if the short block is the same # they sit the same and I would image they're going to keep production similiar to save money.

ajay, if you are really worried about the engine, I'd have at least two things done. first, you can get a compression test done. this is a simple gauge that is inserted in place of the spark plug and just tests the compression of the cylinder. do this for all cylinders and maybe it'll tell the mechanic what may be the problem. Another thing to try is to go to blackstone labs website, request a free sample kit. then when you change your oil next...take a sample and send it in (I wouldn't go for a TBN test..). If the engine went too long on an oil change from the previous owner, then I'd think that excessive wear metals will show up.

This post may not be of any use, but here it is:

I read fairly recently on a BMW forum that when a particular BMW engine's breather valve / hose becomes plugged, the engine starts to chew through oil.

I do not recall where I read this, sorry. Just an idea. It may just be a breather valve / hose.

Edit: This may have been the site:
