Default 2009 Outlander LS V6 Steering Wheel

Has anyone tried to fit a wheel with Audio controls to a 2009 Outlander LS? My vehicle was supplied without audiocontrols and I am upgrading the audio system and thought I would fit a wheel with controls off a wreaked XLS or VRX Outander. Can this be done?

Update on this 21/11/2019
Problem sorted. Bought the buttons plate off of eBay (OEM stock). Remove blank plate and found loom plug already there. Plugged in buttons. Powered on and it lit up. Programmed Audio according to suppliers specs and it worked. Just goes to show often the charge a dealer gives you is inflated to include parts already install in original assembly.

Hi mate I'm sure the clock spring houses all the pins but I'm unsure if the wiring loom has the wires, are you upgrading to the RF package with touch screen? Aka factory RF navi?

Malc, I'm sure it can be done. my '07 came with standard radio, w/o the RF package and it still had the audio controls. I thought all the steering wheels had the controls. Like Gen8 said...I'm sure the wiring and harness is there.

Check out 54B-167 of the Service Manual. Shows how to do it. May not need to replace the whole steering wheel... "Remote controlled radio switch" is what you are looking to install.

Thanks for the info, Not so weird that this model came without. Some countries get somethings other list as added extras and others just dont get them.Appreciate the replies I will have to check but I assume the looms will all be the same (cost effective) just not connected. All I need now is to find a dead donor vehicle.Audio upgrade is Chinese GPS/DVD package.
Late update
Managed to buy the button block on EBay. Removed the blanks cover and it was a case of plug in and match to the Audio system. Wiring was in place already.
