Interference. Torn timing belt can ruin your engine.
Don't ignore timing belt replacement schedule.

Do you have a source?

Its non-interference. See:
http://www.preferredcomponents.com/mitsubishi.php
Search for 6B31 and you will note it doesn't have an asterisk beside the timing belt name, which tells you its non-interference. The 4 cylinder is interference.

I could be wrong, but it seems that I've seen a message on the out-club.ru forum regarding ruined valves due to timing belt skipped several teeth. I will try to find that message.
