2010 outlander GT towing questions
I have a 2010 outlander GT and I am about to haul my motorcycle using a trailer about 1000 miles and I was wondering what I should shift the TRACTION CONTROL **** into? Should I use tarmac, snow, or lock for this journey?
I have hauled trailers w/ trucks for most of my driving career but this is the first (all time 4 wheel drive) I have ever tried towing anything with any great distance.
I checked and it does have the transmission fluid cooler, but anything else I can do to keep from burning out my transmission I will be happy to do.

I'd honestly use "snow" during acceleration, then change to "tarmac" when cruising.
"snow" is what the older 2nd Gens are labeled as "auto", and "tarmac" is 2WD. When going into "snow", you are only engaging the rear diff...so that will relieve some stress off the front wheels.
"Lock" is not the traditional 4WD you'd think of for trucks...it is just sending 50% power to the rear.

Ok so I should just use tarmac the whole time and not worry about ever shifting into (snow) or (lock)?
What about when I'm pulling uphill in the mountains? is it ever a good idea to put it in lock or should I just let it do it all in auto? Does anyone know if any setting is easier on the transmission while hauling a load? I'm not too concerned with milage.
