when the car is idling i can hear a knocking noise from the engine.Did any body experience the same problem?

 

I think I have noticed this on my wife's 2010 V6. Last time she was at the dealer for an oil change she forgot to mention it. Next change we'll be sure to find out about it.

there is a soft ticking on ours. I'm pretty sure it is the fuel injectors.

 

Constant knocking? Or does it happen only every few minutes?

If every few minutes, it could be the AC engaging. Unfortunately Outlander's AC makes a loud noise when it kicks in.

 

I have only noticed the soft knocking sound when sitting at a light at idle in gear. It seems to be constant the entire time sitting and idling.
Once I drive off, I don't notice it any more.

Time to make a call to you local dealer with waranty book in hand. Bought new or new to you? How many miles?

 

Exact Same here. You can only hear it when the radio is turned off, and you really listen.

But, some motors will have a more pronounced knocking than others.
