2010 Outlander: US FUSE vs Canada Non-Fuse System
#21
Kinda weird solution, rather for old non-CD/MP3 radios, but still:
MP3 Hardware Decoder w/ FM/Remote Controller/USB/Mini USB/SD Slot - Black (5V) - Worldwide Free Shipping - DX
Install it somewhere, connect to AUX and get SD/USB MP3 playing.

Ahh, ok. Thanks.
Ivanz (or anyone else), do you know if a solution/accessory is available to allow for a FUSE system? My Canadian 2010 Outlander has the built in bluetooth capability, steering wheel functunality and I have the Nav system, but only have the RCA outlets.
Thanks in advance.

I gave up on the idea and just bought a 3rd party system.

I believe FUSE was introduced in Canada in 2011 (double check, I am not 100% sure except I know it was 1 year after the US). I guess you can test if your bluetooth module supports streaming music from your phone then you have FUSE and just need the part you linked to. Otherwise, you need to do custom wiring to retrofit FUSE, which will most likely require a newer stereo/NAV.

What 3rd party system did you go with, if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks!

I just bought a cheaper Pioneer system with a USB port (AVH-P2300DVD). I didn't opt for bluetooth, maps, etc since I don't use any of those. However, it shouldnt be too much more I would imagine.

Just to let you guys know - old pre-FUSE BT unit works fine with FUSE-capable MMCS (N-04, N-05 etc), with no new features available but still you won't be left without hands-free function.
No rewiring required for this hybrid install.
