Default 2013 3rd Generation Outlander GX4 Alloy Wheel Upgrade

Hello All,

I'm coming up to my 3rd year from buying my GX4 from new and as my warranty is about to expire and the tyres will need changing soon, I've decided to treat it to some new shoes.

I've been looking around for a good few months now and bought myself a set of 20" x 8.5" alloy wheels with an offset of ET35. Seen this model on 22"s but it looks stupid, plus I still want some comfort as the SUV is hardly a performance machine that's worthy of skinny tyres. Question is what are the largest set of tyres I can get away with before it will catch on full lock?

I can only find one thread on here about 20" wheels and like all the other posts on Google, nobody delves deeper in to tyre fitment. I've been told by the nerds in various garages that the most I can get is either 255/40 or 245/45 but I thought I'd ask on here before I end up with something that doesn't fit.

Has anybody even tried a tyre size bigger than this?

Nice to see the reaction to an otherwise easy to understand post. I guess I'll be the only one rolling on 20's here in the UK.

I have had 20s on my Outlander before but switched back to 18s because of the road conditions here in NJ/NY always had issues getting flats and damage. Tirerack.com will show you tire options and sizes that you can use. As far as aftermarket wheels I suggest going with Enkei because they provide the best bang for your buck and warranty.
