Default 2013 outlander sport LE- 4wd

Im planning a trip this summer which will include driving on sand. Loose beach sand will be part of it. I hear to deflate tires to 15 psi and use 4 wheel drive vs. all wheel. Should I also turn off traction control? Does anyone have experience in this type of driving?
thanks

if I were you, I'd make sure I'm in 4wd/lock/whatever the new models call it. not sure I'd deflate the tires unless I need it...even then 15psi is low, maybe 25-20...remember, once you get off the sand, you'll want to find a gas station to get air. I'd leave traction control on...if a wheel slips, you don't want to send more power to that wheel.

might want to throw a little 12v air compressor in your car in case you need to change the pressure on the road.

I'd also have it double checked by a mechanic to make sure you don't have any broken seals or anything underneath that sand could get into. You will probably want to wash the undercarriage often too to keep that stuff from grinding away anything.
