Default 2015 Outlander Sport - LOUD BEEP!

Help! The dealership has not been able to tell me why my vehicle randomly lets off a loud, piercing beep. It has happened when driving and when stopped. No lights on dash, my seat belt is secure. Its random and doesn't happen right away, I am just driving along and it goes off. Scares the you know what out of me.

Thanks for any input.

Where's the beep coming from??? The dash, or the horn under the hood??

They dealership is looking into the beeping, hopefully they will fix it! It happens more when it rains, I am not looking forward to seeing what it does when it snows!

It might be the warning beep for the outside temperature. In Canada its set for 3 degreees celsius..when the temperature drops to that level it beeps and an icon of a small snowflake appears on the display.

Its the parking sensors, they have messed with it a few times. They are less sensitive now.

Thanks!

You just got my attention. So the dealer can reduce the sensitivity of the parking sensors? Did they reduce sensitivity and lower volume, or one or the other?

They told me just the sensitivity, nothing about the volume. There is the button on the steering column to silence it when it starts. When it is really windy or rainy, I just shut it up with the button.

Yeah, the button isn't very conveniently located. Mine is on the dash behind the steering wheel. And I don't want to hit it every time I start the car. I just want to lower the volume a bit. I tried going into the dash to find the speaker, but couldn't find it. My sensitivity is ok. It's just freakin loud.
