Question 2016 Outlander Fog lamps

Proud owner of a 2016 Outlander GT from Canada.

I'm not crazy about the headlight/fog lamp color mismatch. With the LED headlamps which look white, the fogs are halogen and show up more "yellow". I want to get the fogs the same color.

Anyone make this switch already? What are the options out there? LED? Whiter halogens? How do you replace the bulbs? Couldn't find a guide or video online.

Any assistance is appreciated!

Cheers!

Have 3 choices and they are as follows.

1. Buy the Led kit from the dealer

2. Do a 6000k HID kit

3. Ebay and get the LED kit

The bulb size is H-16 it is a odd size.

I did the HID kit. But I did mine at 8000K and I did the 55 watt kit for $39.00 us dollars

Yes, me too!

I have been thought this replacement for a while. I might go with the dealer kit but would monitor closely to see more great advice

Talking @ catacami

Thanks for the update Catacami!! Great find! Looks great, just might have to imitate you now!

The service manager at the dealership made it sound like it was complicated to change those bulbs when I asked a while back. Probably because they want the $$ for shop rate to change bulbs.... Can't be that complicated.

When dealer installs LED lights, they also install a different housing/case hence the price because I believe the bumper has to come off. The housing case for LED lights are a bit different so it doesn't blind people. I have stock LED fog lights from dealer and the fog light casing is different than the picture above.

I wouldn't be too concerned over this though, but I wouldn't use fog lights if it isn't necessary if I switch over to LED. I know people that have fog lights on all the time with LED bulbs and it is quite blinding.

Shaki1994 Just fyi I do know that the housing for the fog light you do not have to remove the bumper pop the cover off and you can replace it all with 3 small screws. It is the same housing but I can't get the idea of what bulb is used because I looked at the new ones on the car and doesn't look like the prior post! Thanks for your help

Hey Jakedawgy,

AFTER I ordered Philips X-tremeVision LED Fog Light 2 Pack from Amazone.ca. I purchased 4 Philips XtremeVision LED 6000K White Dome Light Bulb (part #129416000KX1) from RockAuto (Cheaper than anywhere else!). I noticed that rockauto.com also sale Philips X-tremeVision LED Fog Light 2 Pack and of course way cheaper than Amazone.ca only CAD$84.90 + CAD$ 8.82 shipping

I also have a pair of license light bulb Philips Xtreme Vision 360 LED 6000K W5W T10 194 168 (part #127996000KX2).

Perfectly matching color combinations. Love it!
