2016 Outlander... "Galactica"

I got the windows' tinted the other day. Not the greatest pics (dammm winter weather) Got a nice banner portion on the front windshield, didn't go to dark on the fronts but it's better than the plain glass.
Since Mitsubishi doesn't give you anything but a cheesy manila envelope for the manual, I got an idea to find one. So today I went looking for something to put the owners manual in. I was going to check for something at a local yard, but ended up finding a used Cambridge day planner at a GoodWill (thrift store) that's a few blocks from our house. This works "perfect" and only cost $2. There were 2 allen screws that held the page binder inside it, I took out the binder portion and Ta Da. nice leather case for all the car "stuff", ins. card, registration, etc. to fit it all nice and neat.
One of the things I like about the Outlander, is the lil shelf in the glove box. The planner fits nice and snug and it's better than most of the ones you get with higher end cars.

@Krakker - you haven't done anything in 3 months on your build?! What's going on?

Oh yeah,,,,, the girl and I got a new Jeep after trading off the big 1ton rock Crawler. Been adding or redoing some things on it. 99 Jeep Cherokee XJ on 32's with air lockers and a bunch of armor and HD upgrades. Just re did the complete exhaust, swapped out to 4 hole injectors.
On Galactica, I've ordered some new emblems that I'm going to paint to match what I did on the engine cover. Kind of a fleshy, lava like, 3D image.
Also just got some more TPMS sensors for the 19's, so I'll be working on getting the tires mounted and the sensors cloned to match the stock wheels. Got the plate covers painted, and I'm waiting for some better weather so I can get the Red decal stuck on.
I was going to do the pulley a couple weeks ago, but the dealer lost the locking lug nut key, so I can't even change a tire. They've got one on order for me (based of their master set)
Oh yes, they also repainted my hood and installed the factory hood protector. paint was chipping off and was defective, so they covered the re-do on it. Great dealer I've got.
Here's the new Jeep, and some stuff I've been working on when weather and time have permitted.

Not at all.
Removing it just cleaned up the engine bay. I may think about doing a rally-art snorkel in the future, but a K&N filter will be replacing the stock one soon enough.

Here's the scoop. Pretty straight forward really. A few tools, 14mm wrench for the pulley tensioner, a 22mm for the crank pulley bolt an impact wrench (cheapo from Harbor Freight works GREAT) a jack and stand and of course a small flat blade screw driver for popping out the push clips in the plastic access cover.
The whole thing should only take about an hour. taking pics and such, I set aside 2 hours and had time to check out my 19's while the wheel was off. I reset the ECU by taking off the neg cable. UTE runs smooth and you can tell the motor runs better through out all RPM ranges. Gets up and goes a lil quicker but not "night and day" difference. We'll see what the mpg's are like after a bit.
On to the pics.

Wait a minute, I must've missed it. You got new rims and modded your airbox? I really like the stock rims. It's too bad every single model has the exact same rim so it'll be pretty common. Any pics with the new wheels with tires on your Outlander? And the airbox: what did you do to it exactly. I saw the pics, but I didn't see a description of the purpose or pics of the end result. Still loving the fact that you are pushing your Outlander. Curious to hear about the real world testing on the pulley as well.

The air box just got the resonator deleted. Now looks just like the factory 13-15 models. (wifes got the 14 and I could have just swapped it over)
3 days in and after driving the wifes 14 model, I can say that with the timing controller and the pulley, my 16 is hands down quicker, smoother and easier to hold speed on the interstate or in town than the same thing without the mods. having something stock to compare to was a real benefit to see what's working and in what ways. K&N filter is also in the works for the air box..... soon.
After I get the TMPS cloned and tires mounted, I think I'm gonna lower it about an inch, maybe 1&1/2". I'm still looking at fabbing up a strut tower brace to take care of the terrible body role this thing has. just too twitchy for me on the HyWy. I need better handling.
Here's some pics of the decal I got done while I was bored. I'll get some better shots of it when I hit the lake.
