2020 Outlander Drivers seatbelt warning
Good afternoon fellow Mitsubishi people,
A few weeks ago I purchased my first ever Outlander, a 2020 LS 2wd. Must say, i am quite happy with it.
I noticed a bit of a weird thing... I get in the car, do not fasten my seat belt, reverse out of my garage and start driving. It is then that i normally fasten my seat belt (this is legal where I am). Recently, i noticed my outlander has the fasten seat belt warning light on, but no audible warning. I tested this and noticed I can easily go to 60kph (~37mph) without an audible warning to fasten my seat belt.If I then put my seat belt on and take it off again, my outlander (rightfully) warns me to put my seat belt on. Both with an audible warning as well as the icon about the steering wheel and also multi information display.
I took it to the dealer's service centre, they were baffled.
On page 4-23 of the manual is states:
A tone and warning light are used to remind the driver to fasten the seat belt. If the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position or the operation mode is put in ON without the driver’s seat belt being fastened, a
warning light will come on and a tone will sound for approximately 6 seconds to remind you to fasten your seat belt.
If the vehicle is driven with the seat belt still unfastened, the warning light will blink and the tone will sound intermittently until the seat belt is fastened. At the same time, “FASTEN SEAT BELT” is displayed on the information screen in the multi information display.
This works after the seat belt has been engaged once, but not before.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? I don't suggest to go an drive around without a seat belt!
