Default 6B31 3.0 Mivec running on LPG

Hi All

I own 2008 XLS Outie. I have imported it from USA to Europe and due to high fuel prices I am thinking about dual fuel system. Mechanics here have no clue if its engine can withstand it though. Would anyone be so kind to advise if 6B31 can be converted into dual fuel engine running also on LPG? I mean without damaging the engine obviously

cheeers
regards
Peter

I do not know much about conversions...only what I remember about when farmers converted gas tractors to LPG and listening to the occasional mechanic's tv shows. But when converting to LPG, I think it may need different heads to increase the compression and the computer may need to be flashed to handle the different fuel delivery.

I've not heard of anyone converting the outlander to LPG though.

I have the 2.4lt on duel feul and it has done 30,000 k so far on LPG.
The 6cyl should work just as well as they already have the tougher valve seats for the unleaded. it is the same sequential vapor injection system as used for the Pajero but two less injectors. It automatically switches over and it is so smooth that you dont feel it. Fantastic!
