Default Aftermarket head unit installation help

Hi All

I have bought an aftermarket sat nav head unit for my 07 outlander.

I was told that it is fully compatible with the rockford fosgate sound system including the subwoofer. Many others have said no way you will need the Mito-2 thingy (not sure what it is) to get it to work properly.

Well i can report that this model i have bought DOES support the subwoofer and amp. I can change the sub settings, everything.

All steering wheel functions work, even bluetooth! I had read that the bluetooth functions on the steering wheel dont work but these ones do. Obviously the speech recognition doesnt work, however, the speech button will mute the system, call button displays bluetooth call screen on the sat nav and also answers an incoming call while the end call button simply ends a call, not bad.

I had also wondered if the roof mounted dvd player would be able to be played through the car speakers and not just the headphones just like the original unit and to my suprise it worked simply play a dvd on the roof mounted dvd player and select aux on the sat nav. Quite impressed.

Now onto my issues.

1 - I have installed a reversing camera but when connected it doesnt work.

I think I have to connect a wire to the factory reversing wire. On my harness there is a wire that says ‘reverse’ so i guess i have to connect that to the factory reverse wire but i dont know which wire on the factory harness is the reverse wire.

can someone help?

2 - The screen works fine but there is no illumination around the buttons e.g. around the power and tune buttons. There is a wire at the back of the unit with the letters ‘ILL’ would this be for illumination? if so which wire on the factory harness do i connect it to?

3 - lastly the dvd player plays but no image, so i also have a brake and a gnd wire and i guess that i have to attach one of these but also not sure which wire on the factory wires?

any help is much appreciated.

Ill post pics of my unit and the wires i have asap

cheers

These wire say on them

White - ant-cont
Grey - ad1

Blue - reverse
Yellow - amp
Black - ground

ok got the illumnation and reversing camera sorted

The illumination is the green/white wire on the radio harness and the reversing camera is the white wire on the mmcs harness.

Just the dvd player now, i grounded it but still no picture just audio.

Do i have to attach the brake wire as well? if so where?

ok seems that i have figured most of it out

Read that if you also ground the brake wire dvd will work and now it does

Last thing i forgot

I would like to be able to watch a dvd playing on the roof mounted dvd player but displayed on the front screen (as well as the roof mounted screen).

Does anybody know which cable on the mmcs harness is for dvd video?

In fact does anyone have any info on the mmcs harness? what all the wires are for/do?

thanks

What brand unit is this and where did you buy it? Are there updates for the navigation?

Look like its from Trustigo or www.navitouch.ca

Looks exactly the same as my Mazda cx7 unit.

radio reception is a bit weak, sounds great then a bit of static then great, then very weak

This didnt happen with the stock radio, apart from the actual antenna being plugged into the back of the unit, is there anything else that has to be done?

One of the wires on the supplied harness is White and says 'ant-cont' do i need to do anything with this wire?

I should clarify that the radio does work and gets a good strong signal however it does get a bit of static and sitting in my garage for example the radio station that i used to listen to on the stock radio is really bad, barely a reception at all.

Does anyone know if its a lack of power going to the antenna or simply a **** radio in the aftermarket unit?
