Default Aftermarket head unit

I need to be cleared once and for all. Can I use the factory amp with a newer pioneer head unit? ive heard both yesses and nos, and i have seen aftermarket harnesses to connect an aftermarket amp to a stock radio, maybe something that works the opposite way exists? if i cant use the amp i will probably just tie the wires together at the amp in and out. any sort of help would be appreciated.

Dont use ur factory deck through the amp, bypass the amp, or just simply run new speaker wires to your door. Don't hassle with some "special harness" to connect ur deck through the amp. I do car stereo/custom installs for a living, so take my advice or leave it. But I would seriously recommened just bypassing your amplifier, its what I and everyone I know would do.
