anyone changed battery on 2.4L engine
Has anyone changed out the battery in the 2.4L 4cyl engine? I'm asking because I know I will have to do this sooner or later.
Here's what I'm seeing under the hood. The air intake crosses over the top of the battery. It appears that all you have to do to remove it is undo the two screws that attach it to the frame, then pull it out where it pops into the air filter box. Is it that simple?
Once the air intake is removed it looks straight forward to remove the battery, and put in a new one, but if there's something I'm missing please let me know.
I am aware the owner manual warns you will lose "learned shifting patterns" on the CVT when the battery is removed and they have to be re-learned which may result in rough shifting for a short time.

Help! I am trying to change the battery in a 2008 SE (4 cylinder engine).
How the heck do you pull the intake out of the air filter box? I can get the top portion to wiggle free about a half cm but that's it. I've pulled and wiggled from various angles and can't get the darn thing out.
Here is the diagram for the whole assembly. In the diagram, I can't get #1 (Air cleaner intake duct) to come out of #5 (Air cleaner assembly). [S/M]OUTLANDER go to:
15 -INTAKE AND EXHAUST --> AIR CLEANER --> AIR CLEANER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
