I have an intermittent problem similar to this. When I switch on, the engine management light comes on and the stick is locked in park. If I switch the ignition off and then back on again the engine management light doens't come on and I can move the stick into drive. Took the car to a garage (not main dealer) and they plugged it into the diagnostic computer but no faults came up. Any ideas?
