Default auto wiper / rain sensor mal-function?

I leave my wipers on "auto", there was one time, as soon as I turned the key the wipers auto run at medium speed, but it is sunny and dry.

I was wondering maybe the sensor overheated in the sun or have a problem.
At first I thought the glass is dirty, I did wipe the glass pretty good, this didn't correct the problem.

I parked at the next destination and when I leave this was ok again.

Has anyone had problem with their rain sensor?

That seems to happen from time to time with mine as well. Might just be dirt or a shadow.

Leave mine on "Auto" all the time.

Ive recently noticed a glitch with my wipers. It seems that occasionally when I turn on my brights or turn signals i get one swipe of the wipers. Have an appointment at the dealer this afternoon to see whats going on.

On my Outlander 2008, the wiper also starts when I switch on the indicators. Did you find a solution to the problem?
