Default A/C questions. RPM and cycle time

My 05 Outlander's a/c will cycle on and off every 7 seconds. That seems excessive to me or is that just normal? It blows cold and does not appear to be low on refrigerant based on the gauge I have that came with a can of R134a for a previous car.

2nd question. When the ac kicks on and off my RPM's stay identical. It does not drop or rise or even flicker when the compressor kicks in. My cars in the past from memory the RPM needle would go up, or down, forget which one when the compressor kicked in, which I thought was normal but my outlander RPM stays exactly the same. Normal?
thanks

I only have one of those guages that hooks to the low side and the reading fluctuated. When the compressor clicked on the pressure was in the correct zone, I forget the actual reading but was in the correct zone based on outside temp. When the compress clicked off it went below the zone, I think it was around 20 for the reading.
I read on many sites that some people say its normal for it to cycle like that and others say mine is short cycling.
Blows nice and cold though..

Hi, does that mean you would agree that its not normal to cycle that fast, about 7 seconds on and off..
also, is it odd that the RPM's do not change at all, not even a slight flicker when the compress kicks on? My other cars RPM will dip a little when compressor kicks in and then it will go back to normal.
