Default Canadian Outlander SE V6 awc or s-awc

Hi All,

I've been unable to find this info anywhere on line. Trying to find out if my Canadian 2014 Outlander SE 3.0l V6 has s-awc or just awc. I ask because according to my VIN in space 5 & 6. (Make, Car Line & Series) its listed as Z3 which according to the decoder means SE S-AWC,

D2 = Mitsubishi Outlander ES (FWD)
D3 = Mitsubishi Outlander SE (FWD)
Z2 = Mitsubishi Outlander ES (AWC) (Canada only)
Z3 = Mitsubishi Outlander SE (S−AWC)
Z4 = Mitsubishi Outlander GT (S−AWC)

However I don't appear to have the 4wd options such as snow mode, etc that comes with s-awc. In Canada it would seem you need the GT to get s-awc. Can you get the 3.0 V6 in the US with either awc or s-awc?

I'm pretty sure if your vehicle does not have the S-AWC badge on the tailgate its just AWC
Mine is a 2015 with the 2.4 4 Cyl./...I have a badge on the rear that says AWC..

Correct, the badge is awc. Just odd the VIN indicates otherwise. Wonder if the system is in place but defeated some how from the factory?

When you press the 4WD switch in the center console the display on my vehicle shows 4WD-E( essentially 2 WD)...nothing on the display second press...thats 4WD ON...and lastly.. LOCK...in Orange on the display..Thats it for AWC AFAIK

If you do have it, it will say s-awc by your dial to change the setting by your gear shifter and also in the little display for the information. But you need to select the s-awc option by pressing the info button to see the system at work. If you don't have that then you don't have s-awc. Btw mine is a 2010 xls with s-awc and no badge but I ended up buying the badge and putting it on mine. It's only 2010-2013 xls and gt that have s-awc and after that only the gt since they don't make xls anymore.
