Car is LOUDER after a trip to the dealer.
Just had my oil changed at the dealer. I have always done it myself, but did not have the time and was getting ready to leave on a 2 week trip.
Anyways... After driving my car home, I notice that it is running very loud. Pretty much when I am accelerating (anywhere between 2k-4k RPMs) it sounds like a 1977 Ford Bronco is driving down the street.
Now heres the weird part. If I put the car in neutral (at speed) and rev the engine to 2-4k RMPs, it sounds just fine.
I took my Outie back to the dealer, they "road tested" it, and said it sounds fine. I know my Outie didn't sound like this when I dropped it off.
I checked the exhaust to see if maybe they damaged it on a lift, but I did not see anything wrong.
Could it be the CVT going thru a re-learning process? I don't know why the dealer would disconnect the battery for an oil change, but I am out of other ideas.

If the battery was disconnected wouldn't you lose your presets on the radio.
Is it possible the airbox didn't get put back together properly when they checked your air filter. Other posts on this forum have mentioned it's easy for the clips to come loose on the bottom of the box when checking or changing the filter. If the airbox wasn't sealed properly that might cause a louder engine noise.

I had the same thing, everyone thought I was crazy. I even started a thread here 2 years ago. The noise went away after the next oil change. The culprit was wrong oil type/brand.
