The car is making an ONGOING beep - even if OFF
Guy's Please help me here.
I have a Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 PHEV Instyle+ from late 2013.
The car is making an ONGOING beep that is coming from under the stearing wheel.
Where you have al the fuses and a small valve to open if you need to change a fuse.
The beep does not stop even if you turn the car off and lock.
It's a very high-frequency beep, like these old computer sounds of the 90's.
hard enough to hear it when you are inside the car. Inside the car you need loud music to cover it.
But you cant hear it outside the car.
We have tried everything.
- seatbelts
- every button and switch that the car has
- gear variations
- multimedia system - did not find any setting
- read and reset the software - twice
The technical phone service of Mitsubishi did not know anything about this.
Does anyone have an idea or had a problem like this?
All the help and ideas are appreciated because we can't drive the car like this.
Thank you in advance!

Can you post an audio file? I understand what you're saying, but if there was any kind of short or malfunction, the battery would (should) be dead after sitting overnight as that would be a constant current drain.
Have you checked the door latch closed mechanisms? They can get a little sticky on the inside?
Does the center of the dash indicate any errors or triangles at the top of the display?

When is the last time you replaced the batteries in the remotes? I had an issue with mine once and was not receiving a message on the dash.
Side Note: My friends Audi has a bad center dash display and that thing makes all kinds of beeps for who knows what. Without seeing a video of the car in action it's hard to figure out what is going on. A video starting with walking up to car and unlocking, then all the way through driving and stopping.
Did you buy the car new? If not the previous owner could have added alarm features or other equipment such as a vehicle tracker. Both of those could cause constant beeping. Also, a Mitsubishi or Citroen dealer should be able to plug in and get relevant codes that a standard scanner will not see if you need to go that way. I find that baked goods brought to the service department early in the morning can generate helpfulness not normally given to a regular appointment.
Good luck and cheers
