Default clicking from the shifter area?

Whenever I start my Outlander, and depress the brake to shift into gear, I hear a "click" under the shifter.

I'm assuming it's the gear lock solenoid, or whatever disengages when you press on the brake to allow you to shift.

Is anyone else's audible? This just started happening and wondered if it's a common occurrence.

Mine did the same. It was quiet the first 6 months or so, then I noticed it was pretty loud suddenly.

No one seems to think it odd.

...same here on my 2007, was quiet for almost the first year, then it just started the loud clicking...."they're all like that...." ---which is my dealer's default response for everything...
