really!? Then why do they feel so different? Software? The Nissan Altima and Outback feel a lot more responsive then this car. I knwo they have .5 liters more engine but the Impreza is the same way. So, when I get on it from a stop, it has good response from about 0 - 20 then it just dies off even while I am pressing down harder on the gas.

Yes, its software to purposely make you use less fuel and therefore make the car "more fuel efficient." You can install a blitz throttle controller or enable the JDM "sport mode" (its the same wiring for Lancer/Outlander/RVR):

You can make a more elegant solution if you want to retail paddle shifters (i.e use an active-active switch and add it right by the ASC off button)

Who knows, breathing onto your car could void your warranty if you dealer feels like it...you have little recourse if they claim you damaged something.

You can just pull out the wires and swap them...they have a hooks at the end which just pop into place. Then you can just swap them again when you go to the dealer. Likewise, the throttle controller is just plug and play...they don't have to know.

ok, do you have a link to the controller? The controller would make the CVT act like the paddle shifters as far a response or am I off base?

Thansk!
