DRL to replace Fog kit?

Finally got this mod done, lol!
2007 XLS w/HID. Got the fog light kit, replaced the housings, brackets, wiring harness, switch, and added the fog relay. Took 1.5hrs, very easy other then removing the bumper and dealing with the Christmas tree clips. Went ahead and bought an extra bag of them and that makes things easier to have spares.
I got stuck on the ETACS programming, but finally got it. Get in the car, buckle both front seat seatbelts, turn key to ON, open and close driver door 5 times within 10 seconds, then turn on the fog light switch (make sure your turning it the correct way, I turned it the wrong way several times before I figured it out). The dash will chime, after the chime hold the fog light in the on position for 3 seconds and it will chime one more time. Then let go and your done.
Some might say I'm crazy to just now doing this mod, but oh well. I had bought the kit a while ago but just never got around to installing it. Car is at 125,xxx miles. One of the DRL lights finally burned out. So figured now is the time.
The fogs are SO much brighter then the DRL's. As they should since they are almost twice the watts. The HID's are really bright and great, but I always felt that when the road was wet I had a hard time seeing the road right in front of the vehicle. And when it was rainy or snowy it compounded this. So I'm excited to finally get this done.
