Although I don't have an answer to my first question about version number, thought I'd post one more:

Any methods to replace the "Mitsubishi Motors" text and logo at start up? I'm assuming it's a .bmp or something but I'd really rather see something else when I start up my car... I know I'm driving a Mitsu... don't need my MMCS to remind me.

Hello everyone .. Wow .. long thread, I download the MMCS-261um.iso from http://www.deltainfo.ro/manuals/mitsu/outlander/ and it installed without a problem. Everything else works but when I insert a DVD I get the Region error, I think I read this somewhere as a problem is there a good ISO that I can download to fix it or an Original ISO that I can installed to get me back to the original? Thanks everyone and if someone can get me the fix I would throw a couple $$$ there way ... Or get a round of beers ... Oh by the way I am in the US Arizona to be more precise. Thanks

 

Ok more progress. I have a DVD that I burned and stripped off the regions codes and it works like a champ. So I am sort of there. If anyone has the update with the correct region DVD codes for the US I would appreciate it. Thanks!!!

 

Are you saying that a Region 1 encoded DVD will no longer play in the MMCS after installing the patch, or that your drive was region-free before applying the patch and is now no longer? As far as I know, Otaku hasn't had a chance to do any work with the region codes, so if you applied a USA update to your USA MMCS, I don't see how it'd even affect it...

 

Hey sorry for being unclear I know enough about DVD Region info to be dangerous. I had the stock NAV that would play Region 1 (I think this is US disks) and I applied the patch that I mentioned above. After applying that patch the US DVDs (Again I think Region 1) would not play. But I have ripped a few movies and removed the regions settings (Again Not an expert) and they play find when driving. Thanks hope this is a better explanation!!!

 

The dvd region is indicated on the back of the DVD's case, maybe on the DVD itself.

Hold SET+INFO, touch Versions Indication, and tell us what the info there is.
