Hey DoubleCheese,

So sounds like you have this Datasystems part installed and works to your expectations. Any possibility in having you find out if this will work on an 2008 EVO X (I know you don't speak Japanese, but sounds like you have the connections)? I am willing to PayPal you some $$ to get this. I would go the software patch route but I'm concerned about warranty, and not being a computer savvy guy, I would be SOL if I performed this incorrectly, which reading this thread, others have done.

I appreciate the help,
Orlando

OK GUYS

Here is your solution if you do not want to wait for OTAKU's magic.

http://www.datasystem.co.jp/catalog/tvkit/tvkit.html
http://www.datasystem.co.jp/catalog/...uto/index.html

Sure thing Otaku's solution is the best and easiest but this is good who can't wait for that long.

It's very easy to install, it took me 3 minutes to install, just connect the sockets supplied to the MMCS and the original sockets to the FEMALE of the original sockets supplied in the kit.

By the way, This thing overrides -AUX in motion - DVD in Motion - VIDEOin motion- TV in motion.

While it's activated (meaning you're watching DVD, VIDEO, TV)you can not use your Navigation it blocks your GPS signals.

It's a good idea if you have a Japanese friend do all the talks for you , because these guys doN't seems to speak English, I myself used helps from a Japanese friend too ..

I also bought from them VIDEO HARNESS INPUT and OUTPUT for the MMCS . It's very easy to install too. Just connect the orginal sockets of your car into the FEMALE socket provided by the company and connect the company's connectors to the MMCS..

Hi Orlando ,

I'm almost 99.9% sure it will work on your EVO X as well, because you and I have the same MMCS unit. Once you receive the part from Japan it takes you only 2 minutes to install it after you take out the unit from it's place. It's so easy to install it's just plug and play.

They also have new version which lets you use the Navigation at the same time too.

However my Japanese contact was working here at Istanbul , but due to the global crisis he went back to Japan so I don't know his contact details anymore. Sorry but I can't help you.

Your best shot would be to e-mail datasystem 3-4 times a week until they reply you. As a hint, take a picture of the back side of the MMCS unit and send them this picture with your first e-mail. (they asked me forthis picture too, they need this just to make sure to see if the unit that they will send to you will work on your system)

If you need any more help don't hesitate to PM me.

Regards
DC

EDIT : Guys I haven't been on the forum since last 3 months because my MMCS shows DVD-VIDEO-AUX while in motion so I wasn't visiting the forum that often . Today I received a PM and I see that this AUX in MOTION patch is still not resolved.

For those who can't wait anymore , just goto the web links I provided and order your part simple as that . I totally use AUX - DVD - Video in motion without problems.

I have been working on this project for over a week now and I give up. I am just having a heck of a time getting the MMCS on my new 08 Outlander to recognize the CDs I am using.

I now tried 3 brands of CDs, 3 computers, 2 OSes, and 5 burning applications. Each time I burn two disks: one to update GraceNote and the other is the DVD patch from the iso. When I run the GraceNote disk, I get the "check the disk" error message. When I run the DVD patch, I get a big fat nothing! It says checking the disk, then just says nothing after that.

I have the NR261UM v109 and the 0663-0000 GraceNote. I took the hard drive and unlocked it last night to make a Ghost image and that worked great. When I tried running the patch at the top of the thread, it told me I had the wrong version. I thought NR261UM was the USA version, is there another patch I need?

I am out of things to try, can someone tell me what to do next? I would like both updates (GraceNote and the DVD patch) and I would prefer not to have to take the HDD out again, but would be willing to.

I am new to this forum, but read it for hours before I bought my Outlander last week. It played a big part on my decision. I even threw 10 quid to Otaku's beer fund for the Aux in motion patch development. Thanks to all to make this site great!

ISO file for NR-261UM is here
Name: MMCS-261UM.rar
Size: 12,775,625 bytes
MD5: 1cccf6d95d478fa64c6f4e24239ce8e5

Download archive, extract the files, burn the ISO file and read the README file inside the archive.

Enjoy,
Costin
Ok, so spent a few hours reading through all 58 pages of posts...... whew.... and first want to through out a huge thanks to: rcostin, Otaku and Brian360!!!

So have a '07 XLS with:
BLD-NR-261UM 1.09
00.20.68

I used the above link from rcostin since I have the 00.20.68 version. Downloaded it and ended up downloading a free version of IZArc: http://www.download.com/IZArc/3000-2250_4-10072925.htmlto open and extractthe RAR file. IZArc extracted the RAR file into the ISO and Readme files. The Readme file is instructions and disclaimer, which helps.

So once I had the two files I tried burning using the burn software that came on my HP laptop, Cyberlink DVD's Power2Go. I burned as a data disc, and obviously it did not work. So under the burning options I chose to Burn Disc Image, chose the MMCS-261UM ISO file and burned it that way.

Took the disc to the car, followed the instructions and........ tadaaaa!!!!! DVD playback while driving. Install in the car took like 2-3 min. Booted right back up, said no to the next update screen, put in a DVD and drove off. Works perfect for me. Thanks again!
In this post, you dl the Izarc and then download the problem to a cd and your 5 min from driving and watching dvds. This worked perfectly for my 07 outlander. I cant believe how easy this was and that it actually worked!

That was the file I used, except I used WinRAR to extract the iso in windows and unrar to extract it in Linux. I followed directions for Nero in the readme and it did not work. Also tried Sonic, PowerISO, ImgBurn, regular Windows burning (just for Gracenote). I also used Brasero in Linux. I used generic Office Depot CDs, then I bought HP CDs and today I bought Verbatim. When I burn regular audio CDs, they play just fine.

Since you have a ghost image of your hard drive, the most reliable method of doing the update is to take the file LOADING.KWI and patch it yourself (Otaku: Any updated tool that allows patching + saving yet?), then pull your hard drive again (sorry, it is a pain, I know and stick the updated file on it. Then place the hard drive back in the MMCS, and disconnect the fuse or battery cable for about 3-5 minutes to force a cold reboot.

What version of the App do you have? SET+MENU, touch Versions, and it should be listed as Application Version or something like that. The 1.09 you posted is just the bootloader version, and seems to be the same across all units. Perhaps you're downloading the wrong patch file, or your MMCS is newer than we have a patch for (in which case uploading your loading.kwi file will benefit many people).

Good luck!

Wow, this thread is getting long. Does anybody want to/have the ability to setup a Wiki to help organize all of this info?
