Hrmm..
Message received from an Evo owner..
So apparently on the 30.99 and higher there is a failsafe built into the code that crashes the system during unauthorized updates.
I'll be taking a close look at the bootloader/update code to see what they've changed..
atb.

Hmm....Starting to sound like they think someone has the ability to make things different. I have faith in you Otaku. Did you get the mmcs hardware you ordered? I know you did that to help with the patches.

Depending on how intense this "new code" is there might be a downgrade in the near future. I was thinking....is it possible to write code on a DVD to just do an auto-downgrade to 30.94 and then patch it automatically as well? Even if we upgrade to the new maps and downgrade the .kwi files so they can be patched it should work ....or now that I think of it....probably will not work 100% depending on what the updates actually updated cause it may rely on the newest version...I think the safest way is to decode each version...I wish I knew how to do this then I would help you.

Anyone tried to patch European version 31.11

i had to upgrade from 31.06 to 31.11 because in the version 31.06 my navi didn't run correctly (navi reboots, clock delay, etc) and with this upgrade run fine now.
I patched before version (31.06) without problem and i don't know if try to patch it with the same patcher. what could happen, totally software downgrade or partial, reboots came back.....

anyone have idea?

thanks!

Default DVD/AUX in motion

For all those of us who want/need to have dvd & aux input viewing while in motion the solution is one - independent of version - is the TV KIT MTV320 sold by JAPANPARTS. It costed me 140 euros delivered to my door step in Athens Greece from Japan. The dvd works, the aux works, the instalation is very simple and I think thats the end of our quest!!!!

Here is the link to what I believe dger is talking about.

Do you know how this allows you to have DVD and AUX in motion?

Does it allow the DVD in motion right from he head unit, or is there a separate unit?

Cancelling the gps and speed signals; you lose the navigation capacity, but is ONLY a small 'disadvantage' just for me

It's a small black box that I attached in the MMCS's under side, together to the CANbus module; to on/off it's necessary to operate a switch who comes with kit

The Otaku's method is better, I do know, but while he has a solution for the AUX/RES in motion, it is an interesting option. . .

For some people, like me, I still want navigation. Otaku's DVD in motion works without disabling the navi feature, so kids and other passengers can watch, whicle the driver still gets turn by turn direction from the navi through the speakers. I too have been eagerly waiting for the AUX in motion and Region free hack from Otaku. As he said, it shall be released when it's ready for primetime. I wait....
