Default DVD Sound through stereo

I took my 07 XLS to the stealer today. Based on previous experiences, I am convinced that they are idiots. He had never heard of the TSB for the accelerator lag, so i took it too him. Geewhiz!! But, I digress, so to my questions. We have the rear DVD system, but no navigation. I asked him how we can play the DVD sound through the stereo. He says its not possible. I wan't to call him a liar, but maybe he's right. Does anyone know? One other question. About every other time I get in and start the outie, the MPG and MPH averages reset themselves. The rest of the trip computer stays the same, justthis one screen is reset. Any remedy?

Can't say anything about the DVD sound, but the reset of the MPG and MPH, nothing can be done about it, it resets after 4 hours of the car being turned off. There is a way to set the reset to manual, but the manual setting automatically switchs to automatic reset when you turn off the car, yes it's absolutely stupid but that's they way it was designed. I called customer service on this and the guy made up a story, that it might be a setting that is used when a mechanicis diagnosing a fuel consumption issue, I said "Nice try" and he started to laugh, and adminited that it doesn't make any sense, but nothing can be done about it.

Default DVD Sound to the stereo

Hello yinglingj,

If you look at this post:

https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_151058/tm.htm

It shows you how to wire video and sound to and from the DVD unit to the MMCS unit. In your case, you will need to wire L/R audio from the DVD unit to the stereo head unit (since you do not have the mmcs unit, you do not need video going back to the front). It is not impossible to do, it's a little hard , yes, but not impossible...

Good luck!

Hi there,

If you only have the standard or RF stereo system, all you have to do is press the CD button twice while the rear DVD is on and the sound will come out the speakers.

Good luck

I have the same problem. I tried this, after holding it down it goes to "AUX" but still no sound to the speakers.
