Well it looks like it might have been the negative battery cable, I ohm it out and it was a little variable, I changed the direction and checked the ground. So far that seems to have made a difference and I have not seen any issues after I made the adjustment. I will see how it goes over the next couple of days, and order a new negative battery cable. I will let you know how it goes, thanks for all the suggestions and keep your fingers crossed!

That was my concern that some of the strands got damaged or corroded inside the insulation.

And since that's the main chassis ground EVERYTHING connects to via the body it needs to be a solid connection.

It could be something as simple as a little corrosion on the body where the cable connected and you knocked it off when you swapped it or a loose connection.

That IS the one thing that would tie all systems together. It may not have been browning out enough to cause engine problems but enough to cause micro-controllers to freak out a bit.

I's clean the connection point on the chassis/block where the main ground connects really good with a wire brush and inside the hole as well when you get your replacement cable.

Hopefully that takes care of your problem, please do get back to us if this did end up fixing it.

Thanks and yes I think that is the real issue, this morning again when I approached the car there were no issues. It unlocked just as it was supposed to and no startup issues or warning lights even after I left the SUV outside and not in the garage. I agree something in the strands is causing the issue. I will use a wire brush on it this weekend. I did unscrew the ground connect and screwed it back in, but I didn't clean it as there wasn't any corrosion on the outside of either connector, I feel it is in the strands under the insulation. I plan on replacing it just so I don't run into this issue in the future and I agree the large ohm reading was probably out of tolerance for small micro circuits but wouldn't stop the car from other engine performance issues. I will order a new cable this week and give a final report once I have had it installed and working for a few days. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!
