Default Electronic Parking Brake issue MY2017 Outlander

Greetings from Australia.

I’m posting here cause iMm absolutely at my whits end!!
I have a 2016(my17) outlander (second hand) and had been driving it for 6 months without issue.i had a warning regarding a general service being required, no problems there, it was due for one, And shortly after I noticed a Parking brake service was required aswell and assumed that maybe it getting serviced was a regular thing aswell. Took it in and they also replaced the rear pads, and all went well until the next day when the brake would’nt take release. I touched off on the accellorator to release it and went about my day. Called the mechanic and explained the issue. I dropped it in a week later, having not been able to use the park brake for that whole week. Only to be told that when they had it in the hoist, it worked! Basically called me a liar, reset the computer and told me to come and get it, got it home and what do you know the next day decided not to function again.

this time, I took it to a genuine Mitsubiti dealer, and similar thing happened I begged them to look further into it, and they came back to me asking if I had my pads changed recently. They then accused the other mechanic or not entering the car into service mode properly, subsequently causing damage to the calipers and that is why I was continuing to have this issue. By this time I had also become aware of the recall on earlier models and did bring it up with them, they were adamant that it was the other mechanic’s fault and insisted they replace Them free of charge. i called the mechanics, told them what mitsubiti told me and they agreed to replace the calipers. 4 weeks later on a slow boat from Japan, they arrived and were fitted. Worked perfectly for th rest of that day and low and behold the next day. Same issue....

I’m assuming I’m not the only one who has experienced this, but I need to know what the solution is. Any help would be great. Thanks!
