Default Engine air filter

It's time to change the engine air filter for my 2008 Outlander. Just wonder anyone out there with advice about the best filter according to your experience. Any advice will be appreciated

I'm currently using Green Air Filters.

I've read articles saying that fancy cleanable filters are no better than the standard models, I've read articles touting how great all these fancy high flow filters are, I just buy the regular one on Amazon once a year and replace it, some years it's filthy, other years not so much, it's just a good practice my history says that last one I bought was the Mann for $11

Yeah, I don't know that air filters will really affect performance too much so hard to say what is "best". I've bought cheap ones and not so cheap ones. No noticeable difference. This isn't a super car. Buy the cheap one, unless it has visible holes or something and change regularly on schedule.

In addition, I want to say that there are such air filters - purifiers that will absorb cigarette smoke smell and keep the air fresh in the car! My husband is smoking, but with the purifier, we've solved this issue. Read more about them following my link. Personally I'm fine with the Pure Enrichment option.

Anyone, who is interested the drawbacks and the alleged benefits of performance filters, please read/watch posts #6 and #10, respectively in this thread.
I hope the links are still working. You will be presented FACTS proving that high flow filters let dust particles into the engine and have no boost (benefit) in performance.
