I'm having a hard time to find a good EPB (Electric park brakes) service tool for my Outlander 2017. Rear brake have to be change after 28 000 km only. The problem is the Outlander 2017 has EPB and need tool to open and close the caliper. I want to do it by myself like I'm use to, but because it as EBP, I cannot do it without a machine to controle the caliper. I can find those devices for any vehicule, but not Mitsubishi. I do not just want to check problem, I want to controle caliper.
I'm also trying to research servicing my 2017 Outlander brake pad replacement. The rear pads are down to the wear indicators at 21,000 miles. This is unbelievably shameful considering the front brakes have more than 50% material remaining and at the last dealership oil change 5k miles ago it was not mentioned.
Does anyone know the least cost device that would retract the calipers?
Same issue here. I changed pads on all 4, but the rears were the worst. Anyone ever figure out a way to reset the actuators? I have a Foxwell NT 630 Plus and it only goes up to 16. Doesn't seem to work.
You need to enter the vehicle into maintenance mode.
It can be done with the MUT - III scan tool, or manually by utilising the park brake switch.
Refer to below to use the park brake switch to enter maintenance mode
The Zurich Pro from Harbor Freight worked for me. Pricey upfront but will pay for itself in the long run.
Also Get your pads from the dealer and have them look them up by your VIN number. In my case the pads at the dealership was cheaper than Advanced Auto Parts.

Man, the pads aren't available anywhere for a 2017 Outlander GT with AWC and EPB except on partsgeek.com (found 1 set here) which are more than mitsubishi parts right now found here.
I am struggling with this issue as well on my 2017 outlander gt awc. I follow all of the steps manually and when I go to push the calipers piston back in, it won’t budge. I have tried many times, with different configurations with the switch. I can get the display to read that the “parking brake is temporarily out of service”, yet my piston still won’t go in.
I’d rather not take it in to the dealer to be serviced for a rear brake pad change. But I’m at my wits end here.

I ended up removing the actuators and spinning them back with a torx bit. Clockwise releases it. I put the pads on and drove it to the dealer. 100 for them to reset them with the mut. Cheaper than paying 1k for a scan tool that retracts them.
