You can do something close to lock/unlock automatically but with the ignition. Read this thread on the Lancer:

It should be the same procedure and same wires (check service manual, but 95% of the wires on the ETACS-ECU are the same on the Lancer/Outlander except for specific features like rear wiper and whatnot).

 

Weird, if I start it up and get it the thing starts beeping inside and out before I can even get to the rear hatch. If I try to lock it, it doesnt respond while Im standing outside the car while its running. Going to get stolen one of these cold mornings, and the thieves will be pissed when they stop...
