The key fob just goes in an out without any effort on my 2014 Outlander. There is no lock of any kind at all. It is just a small open compartment a little to the right from the 12V DC plug on the dash right in front of the gear switch lever.

The remote is supposed to stick out at least 3/4 inch when fully in. Maybe the plastic casing inside at the back separated when someone used too much force previously and you managed to jam it in between the top and the bottom piece. Just a guess

I normally keep the garage opener remote in there instead of the key fob. It is a perfect fit in my case

Hi, Abdulbasit how are you? Can you update me what happened to your problem? I have same problem here for my Outlander 2015.
