You have 2 thing to control your see.
One is like a pump to put your seet up and down.
and the other one is to put your seat forward and back.

I don't have the power seats. I do understand how to move the seat forward/backward, but the seatback is the problem. I can not adjust the seat while sitting. I have to physically get out of the car to adjust the seat.

Maybe try leaning forward to remove all weight off of the seatback. If you are applying weight to the seat back, it will cause a bind in the ratcheting mechanism and will not allow for adjustment. If after removing your weight, it still will not adjust, then it's apparent that it's a safety issueto prevent adjustments while driving... or in this case, even while seated in the vehicle.

Well, that's interesting. Every car I've had with manual seats you could adjust the seatback without having to get out.

Interesting indeed, but how often do you need to adjust the seatback? I understand sharing a vehicle with some short petite female sucks, re-adjust mirrors, seat, pedals, radio presets, and temperature control.

One quick question. My drivers seat doesn't adjust when I am sitting in it. I have to stand outside the car to adjust the seatback. I am thinking something is broken?
Do you have electro-driven seat?
How are you weight?
My weight is about 80kg, mechanical seat. Up-down seat lifting is starting with some crisp... but from second-third pull all ok.
All others seat adjustments work fine.
but the seatback is the problem. I can not adjust the seat while sitting. I have to physically get out of the car to adjust the seat.
Hmmm... I had this situation twice. But I'm lazy )) and didn't get out from my car. I rised up holding by steering wheel. When understanded how it works: first pull(push) need to make with some force.
