Our 07 Outlander is also showing creases on the driver side hood.......I've installed a sokie tech hood gas shock kit to offset the condition from worsening. Guys might try this route as a preventive thing. There's a thread about it.....

I'm picking up my 09 LS tomorrow. I'll be sure to check for those dents. I'll check a couple other new ones on the lot and see if they have any problems.

Haven't heard anything about the rock chips yet but I did have the warranty rep from Mitsu look at my hood today and he said that was the first he had heard of it. I told him that I am not the only one with the problem, told him that there are quite a few Outie owners not happy with the hoods denting. I am going to send him a link to this thread and he is going to check it out and look into the problem more. Hope this helps, should know more in a week or so.

wow, you guys make such a big deal out of really nothing. Dents or imperfections happen all the time and obviously none of you have kids. I wouldn't bother about this!

Just enjoy the car.

I would say that car (and other cars I've tried) have far major flaws then some hood dent.

Yes I do have kids and if he was to dent or scratch the car then I would fix it and paint it. The point is that my Outlander wasn't a week old when I noticed the dents and when I'm dropping almost $40, 000 on a vehicle I don't want it to be dented within a week because of a manufacturing flaw. Just my 2 cents.
