How Do I Get My Brand New Outlander PHEV to Actually Blow Out Some Heat?
Hello all, new member here - joined out of frustration and in the hope of answers. So I have recently taken delivery of a brand new 19 plate Outlander PHEV 5HS. Had it about 2 months and it has less than 2500 miles on it. Been really loving it so far, but now the weather has turned colder I have come up against the problem of how to make the bloody thing blow out actual HOT air.
I've looked around on forums and there are a few people with similar problems, however they all appear to be older, used models and the problem was related to blockages in some pipes or lines somewhere, or a failed heating unit etc. I do not think any of this applies to me as the car is brand spanking new.
Does anybody know what settings you need, or what button/buttons you press to get the heating actually you know, hot? I've been through all the settings and put the Outlander into "comfort" mode. I've been for a long drive at speed to get the engine nice and warm. I've set the temperature to 29 degrees (Max) and tried Auto mode, manual mode, air-con on, air-con off - everything I can possibly think of. Nothing. At best I would say it kind of blows out air that is slightly warmer than freezing, but not by much. Certainly ain't 29 degrees.
I want it to blow out actual HOT air when I put the temp up to Max - understand this might take a little while until the engine and coolant has warmed up, but it's simply not having any of it.
Am I doing something wrong? Like - is there a "summer" and "winter" mode or something like on domestic air-con units? Is there a big button somewhere called "heating" or something I have missed? Been through all the manual, and the manual for the Infortainment display as well and implemented everything I can make sense of in there too. Still cold.
How do you get this thing warm??
Please help if you can, I believe in you.
Cheers!
