How to unlock MMCS
#151
I think I must be missing something here!
If the dvd update is compatible on all mmcs s ,why is everyone downloading the maps from the links in this post and removing the HDD to unlock it to copy the map files?
Surely it would be much easier for all if the dvd update image was uploaded which could then be burned to a DVD.
Do the update discs have some kind of copy protection (in the same way as console games) so that copies do not work?

That would be a valid reason!!!!
The link to the auction is
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MITSUBISHI-SAT...d=p3286.c0.m14
£59 isn`t too much but for nothing is alot better!!!
What do you think?

Change startup and get video in motion!
Hi!
Thanks for a great forum.
I have got 2007 Outlander. It had the regular radio/cd changer, but I have changed it to the MMCS. The problem is that the navi is from the c-crosser and has the Citroën start-up. Is it possible to change this to the Mitsubishi start up? Is the start-up file on the HDD or in the unit?
Tried to get the video in motion upgrade to work, but the unit do not response to the burned image and will not upgrade. Does it not support my software version?
Thanks

Ok so I pulled the hard drive. I have an old laptop that has the pinned ATA drive so all I did was put the Nav unit hard drive in its place. I loaded the unlock software with option #3. It runs through some commands and then it just sits there....No command prompt....I left it sit there for about 15 minutes thinking it was reading something from the drive but it still sat there. Weird. I put it back in my nav unit for now. Should it boot right in to the command prompt or does it take a while? Could it possibly be my ancient computer does not recognize it properly? Yes I only enabled the CD to boot from. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

It should load pretty quicky. Mine only took about 15 seconds to load after choosing option 3.
You may want to try another computer or play around in the BIOS to see if there is anything else you can change.
Also try burning the CD again. Maybe you have a bad image.

What did you use to burn the image? I used PowerISO. I tried following the instructions on making the ISO but the cmd prompt never worked like it said...somehow I got it to make it.....I need to order the adapter....

Ok...got it to boot up on an old Dell laptop 1 of my friends had....but am having the same issues as someone else had....It tell me there is a password on the drive and will not boot the Linux OS from the CD no matter what I do and I do not want to try hot swapping. I think I will be ordering the adapter.....I hope the keys I was reading in the very 1st post are correct.....I am using the EM version....I will find out....
