Default RE:- MMCS is alive with a hard drive from another c-crosser!

Per

Do you still have access to the C Crosser hard drive? If so just unlock the drive as described earlier in this thread, then use a Hard Drive management program to copy to a new Hard drive.

I've managed to unlock my C Crosser hard drive (Loader version BLD-NR-261EM-CTR1.10) using the EM key form this post. I did have to try 3 different computers/laptopsbefore I found one that I could get the hard drive to unlock using the xbox software. It was a pretty old celron driven machine.

I then used Paragon Hard drive Manager 8.5 obtained free off a computer magazine cover disc to copy the image to the computer hard drive then clone to a 160gb hard drive. This then allowed me to increase the size of the Juke Box partion to give me more room for music. Only other comment is I've had the odd occasion recently where the navi hasnt started, but I'm putting this down to the -15Deg C temps acting on a non automotive grade hard drive. Everything else works OK and the Navi has always started when I restart the engine.

I havent had a chance to experiment with the image yet. Before you ask as well I can't put a copy of the image anywhere as I'm away from home on business for a month and dont have a copy with me.

Hope this helps

Rigman

Thanks Rigman!

This is helping a lot :-) I have tried to unlock the hard disk sometimes now, but on the same pc. Since no one has confirmed the unlock, of the c-crosser disk, I was thinking this had a different unlock code. But Otaku also told me that he tought the c-crosser had the same unlock code as the Outlander. Thanks to the both of you.

I will try again and give you and update.

Default Cold boot with clone HD

Hi! Can anyone confirm that is it possible to do a coldboot (take out the fuse for five minuts) on the MMCS with a clone HD. I must use my original drive to do this.

Thanks

(FYI to all the do gooders, I work on the road and travel highways lots, I can't be pulling over every 5 sec to make a call. If the Saleman had of informed me correctly the difference in MMCS to the voice control system in regards to the handsfree, I wouldn't have got the MMCS at all)

So anyway, the hacks people have previously made are done only through linux OS, anything I need in particular?

Hi Dex,

This relates to the Australian MMCS Only - not the USA etc one.

Found this on the Pajero Forum ( http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/...?t=5721&page=6 ):
***********************************
The nav disc must be inserted.
Turn ignition on, press agree.
Press Audio then PWR - should be at the Audio Off screen, no keys displayed.

There are 4 hidden keys on this screen as shown in the attachment.

Press 4 then 2 then 4 then 2 then 4 then 2
***********************************

Now the 4 - 2 - 4 etc is simply 6 key presses far left, far right, far left etc...

Only Diag stuff, but its a step forward.

I too am interested in hacking this thing. Not to concerned about DVD in motion, but the setting destinations restriction etc really hacks me off.

I do not understand that they lock you out from doing this in motion but they let you stuff around changing MP3 tracks etc while in motion - whats the diff?????

There is also some more somewhat relevant info here: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gr-i-c-e...enu-found.html

Anyway - hope you can make good use of this info.

Hackit,

Cheers. i got into the system. i noticed there are different Car Types mine was set to 3M25, but there were others to choose from, 3M45, 3E45 & 3E47. anyone got an idea what these differences are? when i changed to each of them, i only noticed a difference with the audio quality.

there were two pages worth of information and settings checking. and by the looks, as mentioned on another forum, the reversing camera is just plug and play. i am looking forward to someone landing their hands on the manual so that we can all start tweaking the system.

cheers!

Hi McFeast,

Thers another code for the Aussie MMCS units out there, its 1-3-1-3-1-3-4-2 based on the following screen layout:

...1...
4.....2
...3...

Not real exciting but it does allow you to reset stuff so be careful!!!!!

Hi Hack, thanks for this! I just checked it out. I was wondering what the Loading button does? when i press it, it asks if i want to run the loading software. i was wondering if you (or any others) have done this, and what it allows you to do? eg add more menu items or something?

That is good to know have two secret menu items to look into. the one you give above, doesnt do a hard reset on the software like the 4-2 4-2 4-2 one does when exiting the menu.

One other question that hasnt been answered, is what are the differences between car models under the "4-2" menu?

Cheers for your help guys!

Hi McFeast,

I don't know what the loading button does, not been game to try. I suspect it simply reloads the loading.kwi and effectively initialises the unit - so it may reset settings - and some may be critical....

Yes I have noticed that a key difference between the two menus is the 424242 one does a reset and the 13131342 one does not. However I also have noticed that once I have been in the 13 menu, when I go out the reversing camera come up blank, but if I turn the ignition key off and then on again it starts to work again.

The 13 menu was a great find, because by Bluetooth audio - send and receive - sucked. There’s settings in this menu that lets you adjust the volume for send and receive. I need mine on 4 for both and now people can hear me and I can hear them.

I believe, but don’t quote me, the car type is for cars that are not linked by the CAN bus. In Aussie, I think only the Lancers and Outlanders are CAN bus linked and therefore the car type setting is there but there are no options (presumably because the MMCS can read the ECU's via CAN) where as others have choices. This may affect the menu options presented in the MMC's, so selecting a different car type may give and / or remove options and the new options may not work or cause problems. So be careful there is my advice.

A fibal note - thsi forum is really for the American MMCS. In large theye have been unable to assist us "Down Under" people. I suggest that to avoid presenting them with too much useless info we stick to the Aussie Pajero forum over at
http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/...ad.php?p=78143

The main differences I see in the two MMCS units are as follows:

Code:
American Aussie

Button layouts differ Just has buttons - no directional ****
Hard Disk No Hard Disk
One DVD Drive Two DVD Drives
OS is WIn CE OS is ????? (Linux, QNX or ITRON)
DVD In Motion Hacked No Hacks - Yet!
Uses PIN for Diag Access Uses Touch Screen Sequence for Diags
So you can see they are quite different so I suspect anything they find or we find will be of little use to each other. So let's not clog up this forum, if anyone is interested they can pop over to http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/...ad.php?p=78143

Cheers

Hack
