Default Japanese MMCS in a german car....?!

hi there everyone.....

first of all: sorry for my english because i come from germany. my name is tom and i got a 2007 outlander II.

i have just bought a MMCS from ebay. after i have installed the MMCS i have noticed that everything is in japanese and even some plugs on the back side of the MMCS did not match.

is there a possibility to switch the language to german and install the european maps on this system?

i have tried to search some threads but did not found an exact answer for my question.

thx a lot for your replies.

greets from germany

tom

the chances are not very good. You could try to get a complete image for the hard drive with european maps.
You should take care that most HW versions match the software. Maybe trying with a replacement hard drive is adviseable, so when it won´t work you can always put back the original.
You can find the instructions for partition unlocking under the "DVD in motion" thread.

greetings from Hungary

Now the same in german.

Prolly have to re-image yours which depending on your technical skill level could be difficult. You might be able to have a German dealer (if there is one) help you out.... doubtful. But to save time and headache you might just want to sell it, and buy a European MMCS.

You may try this:
Get a EM software CD disk (version E, for example)
Press SET-NAVI 5 secs for Service menu
Choose Version Information
Press Menu for 5-8 secs
Choose Load disk, insert CD pick OK wait for loading the program

All the best
