Question Link BETWEEN CVT and Transfer Case.

Hello Guys,

I would like to know outlander 2009 2.4 4b12 shares CVT fluid in the transfer Case?. Ref#VIN- JMYXTCW5W9Z702186. During removal of the transfer case fluid, green color CVT fluid came out and the quantities are close 3 to 3.5 liters.

When my mechanic fills CVT fluid through the transmission fill hole then it's come out via the drain plug of the Transfer case.. (We kept drain plug open to check whether its coming or not)

Most of 2009 outlander manual found on web, recommends SAE 90 grade oil and the qty is 0.49 ltr but how come mine is having a different fluid and qty ?. Is my transfer case seal broken and this makes cvt fluid leak to the transfer case ?. Is it possible?. . But I don't have leaks any were in the transfer case or in transmission it's all clean.

Transfer case with AWD should be a 10mm hex, is this the drain you used?
