Does anyone know where the oil filter located? I don't want to take anything apart just to look at it, but is there an angle and place where I can take a peek at it? I want to make sure that none MS dealer installed correct filter. Thanks guys!

 

This is for the 2.4L gas (petrol)engine. Just crawl underneath the outtie from the front, look up, and you can't miss it. It hangs down near the oil pan. Because of its location you can not access it from underneath the hood.

 

If I remember correctly in the v6 it is located in the left side of the engine. I would pop the hook open to check but I got no flashlight with me and the OEM oil filter is black so not something easy to find in a dark garage[&o]

 

I have v6 in US. I looked from top with the hood open and did not see it. Do I need to look from the bottom?

 

Having the 4 cyl I can not say for sure on the V6, but yes, I would crawl underneath and check for it there. I put down a small rug to lay on, and had plenty of clearance to get underneath my ES.

 

I believe that it is in the front, When you are standing in front of the car looking to wards the back, it will be on the right side of the exhaust manifold.

 

If you're under the car, just look right above the starter...which it dribbles oil onto when you change it.

 

lol I just changed the oil and oil filter tonight. The filter did dribble on to the starter. I replaced the filter with a Mobil 1 m110. It seemed a little smaller then the mitsu one. I believe I have it in correct but there seems to be a few drops under it. Not sure if it is leftover from when i removed the old filter.

I added 4 quarts of Mobil 1 5w-20 synthetic. Seems like I over filled a little but the manual said the pan holds4 quarts.
