Mitshubishi Outlander 2010 only BT hands free for ph-need to install FM transmitter
Hello all,
I have a Mitshubishi Outlander 2010, has Hands Free Bluetooth for phones only , I paired our phones and works great. There is no USB port on the car.The problem is , my wife wants to listen to some MP3 podcasts that I have on a USB stick. I've got a FM transmitter/Bluetooth with USB port, attached the USB drive to it works great on older cars with no Bluetooth. On the Outlander, i connect the FM transmitter to the cigarette lighter outlet, it says 'bluetooth mode' and even when I set it up for a FM channel and frequency (say 105.0 FM1) that matches/syncs with the one in the car, it is quiet, it is to be 'on hold' for some 'play' command ...but pressing the 'play' button on FM transmitter - nothing.
There is no FM 'play' mode available for FM transmitter, seems to be stuck in some Bluetooth mode...please help in either disabling (temporary) the handsfree Bluetooth in the car...or set up the FM transmitter somehow...
Cheers, Buz

There should be 2 aux jacks(red and white) behind the center console near the floor. You press the CD button for 3 seconds to activate Aux input.
As for your FM/Bluetooth device, who knows. All that crap is made in china, so it's hard to say.
You could also burn the MP3's onto a CD as a Data disc, not as an audio disk. The disk must also be closed, meaning you can't write onto anymore. I think the factory radio plays mp3 files, you should be able to fit 700mb worth.

Hi, currently she is using CDs which I burn...but with an USB stick she can take it to the office, find something interesting that day, download it on the stick, go to the car and just plug it in the ...FM transmitter (you are right, it is made in China and not much of details...). If I could disable/enable car Hands-free Bluetooth and try only FM transmitter..
Thank you for the suggestion, will look after the AUX cables and see if and what I can do about it.
