Default MMCS complete failure

Be warned - got the kiss of death on the MMCS. Says "It is difficult to read the hard disk. Please wait awhile until the hard disk is restored." over and over again. 3 months out of warranty, 2009 model.

Took it to dealer - can't fix it .Say c.£2000 or $3000 for new MMCS!!!

Can't use any function radio, music server, satnav, car system controls. Was stuck on holiday with 1000 mile journey ahead and constant beeping! No reset function available. Unbelievable that you can't even use the radio?

Appealing through goodwill process, but I thought Mitsu were renowned for quality?

Any other ideas on how to fix it rather than pay Mitsubishi thousands of my hard earned dosh?

Is it something to do with partioning on the hard disk. Do dealers have the IT/technical capabilities to fix issues like this?
Thx Styn

It's the drive for sure I would say. You can buy a new compatible drive and clone someone elses in your country...I believe you need to unlock both before doing so. That should just work.

Ivanz thanks for advice.

I'm by no means an expert in this area.

Who would be able to do this for me? Obviously not Mitsu.

Given my technical expertise, don't think it is something I could do myself....
