mp3 player aux or line in on basic stereo?
Oops...I thought the '07 Outlander LS model I just bought had an auxiliary line in for an mp3 player, but now I think that is only available on the sun and sound package. What is the best way to connect my mp3 player (Sony Discman mp3 player) to my stereo? I've heard mixed reviews on fm transmitters...has anyone tried this? Or is there a line in connection on the back of the stereo or something?
Thanks everyone!

check the back of the armrest facing the rear passengers to see if you have the AUX input there. my 08 with stock head unit has it back there.
as for FM transmitters, you will only get FM quality.

No, there is nothing on the back of the armrest/console. The fact that the stereo had "mp3" listed made me think there was an aux jack somewhere. Has anyone found a good fm transmitter for the stock stereo? Or could I connect it to the rear of the stereo somehow? I don't really want to rip it out and I definitely don't want to replace it.

AUX input is standard on the Canadian 08 models. i have it with my stock CD player on ES 4wd.
FM transmitters are all the same in terms of broadcast quality because their limitation is basically the fact that they are radio frequency.
